I first started using Urban Poles after attending a seminar at an APTA national conference and I started Pole Walking classes for my patients at Advance PT / Valley Stream NY. I found the poles advantageous to have for my patients compared to Walmart or Dicks Sporting Goods. Later I incorporated them for myself as a mountain climber. In September 2025 I summited Mount Fuji in Japan and Mount Hallasan in South Korea and in January I summited Mount Toluca in Mexico while using my poles. I feel the energy from my new Spirit Poles and love them even more.
First off, the design on the poles is beautiful. Theyre simple to set up and get going. The videos on the website explain the nordic walking method well. Im new to this, but excited to go to this for fitness. I used to run, but i think this will do well for me as i age (63 right now).
Not. Yet used till Xmas a gift
The handles are super comfortable, the shock absorption features make the landings nice and soft/bouncy, and the locking system is fantastic for preventing the poles from shrinking. I'm an instructor, and I recommend these to everyone. People who arrive with other (cheaper) brands always end up moving up to Urban Poling poles. I regularly see other brands/styles that shrink as you walk, make noise with each landing and/or involve strap/glove systems that some people find more difficult to learn with.
First time using poles. Thought this could help my healing process from a hip replacement surgery 10 weeks ago. My friend introduced them to me.
